The Vapor jellybean is such a great paddle. I don't care what level you play at. It does everything good.
It's exactly what I expected - a great unassuming paddle. Well done!
I really wanted to like/love this paddle because of its shape, which makes sense to me. But, right off the bat the paddle felt heavy. Actually it "swung" heavy. I realize its published swing weight is med to low, but for me, not. I actually weighed it on my postal scale and I was surprised that it was right at 8 ounces, which should be fine. Secondly, the ball seems to come off the paddle kind of dead. Short, medium and long hits seem dull. I have played with it 6 to 8 sessions to give it a fair shake, And, lately I have been mixing in my old paddles to try to verify my impressions, with no real improvement. I did add two small weights to the top corners to help things out, and that seemed to cause a small improvement with game-play. But still, I wish I had trialed it before spending the money. (And its not really the money, since the price is fair. Its the opportunity cost, since I am not likely to buy another paddle so soon after.) Anyway, my impressions: wanted to love it, kinda hate it.
I came from using an overpowered paddletek and this paddle has helped me improve my game so much in the short amount of time I've been using it. I'm no longer popping up dinks or volleys and my drives are staying in more often than not. The handle is a nice length as well.
The control and power is phenomenal. All of my friends use this brand and we all have different styles of it. We are all obsessed
