My game is evolving from a solid technical player to more power and attacking. I want a paddle that still has good control but adds more pace to my drives. I also want a large sweet spot - I think too many players go for power paddles that have tiny sweet spots that require perfect precision. That's not me! I tested the Huarache-X against the JOOLA Simone Jardim Hyperion C2. Both paddles are excellent and met all my requirements. The Joola has a slightly better contact feel - that "kiss" from paddle to ball on contact. But I noticed that with the Huarache, my shots are more consistent, my drives are hard, and it imparts great spin. I'm keeping the Huarache and looking forward to attacking my way to a win in my next tournament. (Ed - 3.8 DUPR)
Too poppy and powerful for me coming from a control paddle.
I have to admit, at first I was a bit underwhelmed with my initial impressions of the APP. But once I added some weighted tape to the paddle throat, whoa boy… this thing sings. Drops and dinks were where this shines, and my drips and drives dive hard. While the HXP I was using was incredibly well balanced right out of the box, it doesn’t have quite the control the APP offers. I would say whatever the APP lacks in pace, in makes up for in placement. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Incredible paddle.
My wife needed a little more power in her game without sacrificing control at the NVZ, and this paddle does just that and she loves it..Thanks !!
Good touch on it, good spin too. Felt really good in the transition zone/middle of the court. Definitely lighter than expected and took a few games to get my overhead/drive adjusted. Felt really good at the net. I think it's a good paddle for sure.
